How often do we hear ‘age is just a number’ but do you really believe it? I know I do. This month, I will be 60 years old. I’ve Sizzled Towards 60 and now I’m still going to be Sizzling Beyond.
Age should not define you
Many people get a little hung up on the number of their age and focus on getting older. Some get to a point where they don’t even want to celebrate their next birthday.
Reasons why Age doesn’t define you – You define who you are
The only limit on us are the ones we place on ourselves
By using age as an excuse, we place limitations on ourselves and miss opportunities because we don’t think we can do it.
Physical changes in our bodies happen but these can be maintained and improved with exercise and a healthy lifestyle
Sure we get wrinkles and our bodies start to change shape or do weird things. However maintaining a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and eating a well-balanced diet will help. Don’t forget to treat yourself – wine, chocolate, massages, facials. Whatever, you feel is a treat go for it because you deserve it.
Just because you are a different age today than yesterday – do you really feel any different?
Milestone birthdays can become a nightmare for some. They become fixated on an age and the day, however if you look at it logically do you really feel any different today than you did yesterday? Again it is a mental attitude.
Mental attitude
Our attitude to life and living is so important. We need to have a positive outllook and be involved. Looking after our Mental health is just as vital as keeping physically healthy.
Making the most of your life – some don’t get that chance
I recently heard of a distant cousin who had passed away at 41, leaving a wife and two little children. In fact, my father, mother and brother all died in their early to mid 60s. You never know what lies ahead so instead of focusing on the negatives of getting older – make the most of your life and appreciate each day.
Stop focusing on the number and just start focusing on living and enjoying a life full of laughter
You know when you focus on the negative you get more wrinkles? We all age and we have to accept that, so instead of focusing on the number, get out there and enjoy your life. Enjoy laughing, having fun and the company of people you love. Experience life!
